How badly will I regret it if I take my earrings out before the 6-week mark?
I got my ears pierced with my birthstone about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Homecoming is this Saturday, and I want to replace my blue earrings with a pair I bought to match my pink dress. However, my friend said if I take them out it will hurt badly to try and put a new pair in. Should I risk it?
I’ll assume you got them done with a piercing gun? (FYI, if you ever get your ears pierced again, get them done with a needle. Trust me. Google it, if you must. The guns really mess up your ears)
It depends how they feel. Are they still scabbing and crusting up at night? Can you turn them without pain? Are they still swollen? Do they still hurt to sleep on?
If you feel that they’re healed enough and you take good care of them, you can try it.
Make sure to disinfect the new earrings (just throw them in a capful of peroxide for a bit), wash your hands, and try it. One at a time.
If your ears are giving you any indication that they are not fully healed yet, you may not be able to get the new earring back in and will be forced to let them close up and re-pierce.
(ps. if you got them done with a needle they’d be healed by now)
