I love red wine and I drink it everyday… how much should I drink if I want to stay healthy?
I drink wine everyday since I read a TIME Magazine article about its properties… but I often wonder how much should I drink if I want to stay healthy and, most of all, avoid becoming an alcoholic… I often drink half a bottle, is that all right? Thanks!
Well, you know they say if you drink every day you’re an alchoholic… lol 
But, if you’re going to drink every day red wine is the way to go! Really you should only have one glass, here’s why…
Your first glass of red wine relaxes your blood vessels and reduces the amount of work that your heart has to do. Anything after that glass increases the risk of high blood pressure, coronary artery disease and heart failure. However, even though the risks increase by the glass there is nothing to suggest that 2 glasses is really much worse then one, the risks just increase per glass so, say, drinking a bottle of wine probably is NOT a good thing.
Wine also contains antioxidants which help take care of a variety of issues including cancer.
Just remember, too much of a good thing…. not so good. Drink it in moderation and it’s good for you!
The red wines that have the most benefits? Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah (my favorite) and Pinot Noir. Merlots and red zinfandels (yuck anyway) have fewer flavinoids (antioxidants) than other red wines and white wine has significantly lower flavinoids than any red wine.
