Identify this antique emerald ring for me please?

I received an antique ring as a gift and I am having trouble researching it mysefl before I take it to an appraiser :( Help would be appreciated.

The ring is marked 925 CI, gold in colour, split band style with five round cut emeralds in a diagonal row in a centered wave design, four prong setting per gem. The ring has no filigree, flowers, animals or geometric engravings.

It’s hard to say the worth of it without physically seeing it or at least seeing a picture. However, a stamping of 925 indicates that it is sterling silver. It may have a gold coating if it is gold in color like you say. Without seeing it, it is also hard to say if the gems are natural or if they are lab or simulated, or the quality of these gems. But… the 925 definitely means it’s silver.
